Dr. Comfort Fummey holds a degree with honours in Biochemistry from Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria. After obtaining her medical degree from the prestigious University of Lagos in 2007, she went on to University of Glasgow for her Masters (in Public Health) where she earned a distinction in 2010. She is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Public Health in UK.

Dr Fummey possesses several years of clinical research experience, leadership, teaching, team facilitation and is passionate about helping individuals attain their best possible potential. In addition to her voluntary work with Transforming Africa Initiative, she has also volunteered for various organisations including Save the Children and Oxfam. She currently works as an Occupational Physician for the NHS in Scotland and volunteers with the British Red Cross in her spare time.

I am a firm believer that giving is an integral part of society and that those who give to society’s less privileged do not lose what they have given but have potentially opened up opportunities for others as they make society a better place

Dr Fummey brings on board the Transforming Africa Initiative team her tenacious passion for excellence and equality of individuals irrespective of race or gender.
