Dr Haruna Musa Moda Haruna is a lecturer at Manchester Metropolitan University where he contribute his knowledge in the field of Environmental Science at Undergradaute and Postgraduate degree and supervision of MPhil/PhD students in relevant research work. He is actively engaged in research, consultancy and knowledge transfer projects in the UK and West Africa on number of environment and public health issues. Haruna studied at the Federal University of Technology (Modibbo Adama University of Technology), Yola-Nigeria and graduated with B.Tech (Hons) in Urban and Regional Planning in 2001. Upon completion of His National Youth Service, He was awarded an overseas scholarship from the Petroleum Technology Development Fund (PTDF) Nigeria in 2003, to study MSc Instrumental Analytical Sciences (Environmental Analysis) at The Robert Gordon University. After his master’s programme, Haruna pursued a PhD research degree at the Centre for Research in Indoor Climate and Health (RICH) at Glasgow Caledonian University, Glasgow and awarded his degree in the summer of 2008.

Haruna PhD research examined the metabolites production and potential health effects of mould growth associated with buildings under non-stable conditions. Upon completion of his study, he took up a post-doctoral research position at the Mackintosh Environmental Research Architecture Unit, at Glasgow School of Art, involved with ESPRC funded project: Environmental assessment of domestic laundering and other related research activities involving durational monitoring of CO2, humidity and temperature to assess indoor air quality and building performance.
